amber

Thirteen years ago I taught this sweet young girl in kindergarten.
Last week she lost her three year battle with cancer.
My prayers and thoughts are with her family.

Just a short two months ago she was doing better.
But . . the lord called her home before anyone was ready.

ALBION — The best wishes are made possible with the help of family, friends, and even strangers.

Amber Liese, 18, of Albion, has been battling cancer for three years and has been involved with Make-A-Wish for just as long. Her wish was to have her bedroom, which she shares with her sister, Valerie, 20, made over with new furniture and a whole new look.

That wish was granted in August when the new room was unveiled.

Read her Make-a-Wish story here.

Ohhhhh I'm so sorry to hear this. It is always sad when someone so young is called "home". I just lost a friend from college two weeks ago. I am so thankful that she was able to get her wish! My nephew had his wish granted last year, a trip to Disney! I know that these wishes mean as much to the receiver as they do to those that love them. I have lifted up a prayer... dee dee

What a beautiful girl. Life can be so unfair; I can't imagine losing my child. But heaven is much sweeter with each passing.

I'm so sorry for your loss, what a beautiful girl and what a honor that you were able to be a part of her life for a short time.

I am so sorry to hear about this pretty young girl. My heart aches for her dear family.

Your life touched hers in a special way as her teacher, and I am sure it must be difficult for you too.
