cord wrangling

With so many devices in our home
we needed a way to wrangle and label all their cords.

I bought some at RuMe but you can make your own

{I couldn't find neoprene so I used vinyl}

These little cord wranglers would make great
stocking stuffers or party favors
don't you think?

apron shirts

While visiting the kids in British Columbia
I came across a fun sewing project at their local farmer's market.

They are aprons made from thrift store shirts.

I made several for our little ones.

Mine are made from men's small dress shirts
 but a child's large may be better {shorter}

It was fun playing with sleeve pockets
and transferring labels to the front.

You may find the directions on this blog helpful
if you want to try making some

Here are two photos from Liz's blog showing cutting instructions

dollar tree favor

Most of the items to make these favors were purchased
 at the Dollar Tree Store
{craft paper wrap, gift card holders, tape}
Candy bars were on sale at Walgreens

I gave them out at a recent birthday party and
also think they would make cute little hostess gifts

footprints in the sand

Leaving your mark on a sandy beach.
Wouldn't it be fun to try and make a pair of these?

Or perhaps you'd rather just buy a pair

Crochet Headband with Rosette Flower

I made these headbands for my daughter-in-laws
and have since made several more to
give away next fall.

I know with spring at hand you probably aren't
thinking about crocheting warm headbands
so I will post this again in September.

tealight snowman

When our extended family gets together for a Christmas brunch I like to bring a little favor. This year it will be tealight snowmen.  I got the idea from my daughter in-law who sent me a picture of a very cute scrapbook tealight snowman project. I simplified the idea and headed to the dollar store.  If you want to see fancier versions just do an image search and you will see lots of great ideas.

A few projects from previous years:
