corked

For Christmas last year our daughter-in-law's
parents gave us this charming wine-cork basket.
Ten months later it was full, emptied and ready for round two.

I wonder if we drink more wine than the average person?
One glass a day with dinner and two at Wine-on-Wednesdays.

I have saved the corks because surely
there must be a creative use for them.
Any ideas?

Thank you Tim and Tami!

I've wondered the same thing about corks. For some reason they are just so pretty to display. We don't drink wine so no corks here. I just don't think the tops off Diet Mountain Dew are quite as pretty :)

I agree with Hoosier at Heart's comment.

There's got to be something you can do with those little cuties. I will say I LOVE the bag looking basket. Very cute!

I save mine for my sister-in-law. She makes trivits and framed, cork boards. But I went and Googled this and found a lot more ideas.
That basket is just to cute!
Isn't it healthy to drink a glass of wine a day?

Well, that's more than my 3-4 glasses a year! ha. I love the corks..they are so unique and look great all together in your basket! Interesting question Christine asks. I've heard it's good for your cholesterol and heart but bad for breast cancer. Hmmm. White is my favorite!

Thanks for your sweet, sweet comment on my blog! I love that you visit!
And yes, I have seen corkboards made of the corks....and what a cute, cute basket to keep them in!
Or get a huge jar for them.........enjoy your day!

I did see a wreath made from wine corks a few years ago and thought it was very attractive. Your cork basket is beautiful!

I love the way that wine corks are as unique as the wines themselves! Can't wait to see what project you come up with!

We just store them in a jar. Your basket is a better idea, what a great gift. We enjoy a glass at night, too! I couldn't imagine a good Italian dinner without red wine! And I have already told Tony when the kids are grown we need to start a Wine on Weds. club! I love that idea :)
Can't wait to see what you decide to make!

Impressive! I'm sure with your creativity you'll come up with a great cork idea yourself and then be sharing it with the rest of us.
