A sweet young girl that I work with gave me a bag of
candy when I retired, each with a clever poem attached.
I thought you would like to see them.
. . . and a gift card for Joann Fabrics!
Thank you Ali!
I leave in her capable hands four of my favorite jobs . . .
teaching kindergarten
guiding teachers as a grade level chair
school photographer
producing the elementary yearbook

Obviously, you will be missed.
Ali put a lot into her gift and not just the candy.
So, how does it feel?
What great and cute gift. Every time I read your retirement post I get teary eyed, because teachers are so special not only to the children they teach, but also to us parents! I would've loved for my kids to have you as a teacher, you can tell you loved your job :)

Isn't that the cutest? When I retired my "people" gave me a pair of flip-flops (along with a few other goodies) and told me from now on, every day was casual day. :) Thus, the flip-flop became my personal symbol for retirement.
Mary, Thank you for being a teacher. I became a 'sub' para-educator 4 years ago in our local school district and I found out first hand, being in so many classrooms, with so many teachers, that teaching is one of the most demanding jobs, and probably the most rewarding. Being in the classroom has changed my life. Enjoy retirement......then get on the sub list! Tom G.
PS. My wife has cut me off of chocolate cake until I can into my Speedo again. You encouraged her.
Wasn't that clever! I just love it! Congrats on the retirement...how very wonderful!
What a wonderful gift! Hope she makes you proud as you hand all of your "hats" of to her!
Clever and fun idea.
