I did make two changes.

I only put the fusible interfacing on the 

cover and the four squares

not on the other inner pieces.

I added the first snap (female) to the cover before sewing any pieces together.

{I also put the snap in backwards one time so be careful}

I was able to make four wallets from two fat quarter pieces.

Hint: The cover and inside pieces are about 1/8" larger than 4 1/2 ".

That makes a difference when fitting in the credit cards.

I made one at just 4 1/2 and it was a too tight.

Clean and Scentsible: How to make a Candy Corn Bunting

Here is a fun "sew and fold" fabric Christmas ornament 

that turned out to be pretty easy.

These will make great little hostess gifts or party favors.

One challenge I had was finding a hanging string.

I ended up using Hemp Cord from the jewelry section.

The second challenge was finding affordable buttons.

I am still looking for some gold ones . . .

I used a 7" plastic plate as the template.

  

For the ones above I used red and green quilting fabric  

and now I have some Christmas fabric for the rest.

Stitch two contrasting colored circles together

 right sides facing leaving a small opening.

Turn them right side out

Top stitch and you are ready to fold

Draw up the centers and stitch together 

 Fold each corner over the edge

dollar tree favor

Most of the items to make these favors were purchased

 at the Dollar Tree Store

{craft paper wrap, gift card holders, tape}

Candy bars were on sale at Walgreens

I gave them out at a recent birthday party and

also think they would make cute little hostess gifts

How cute is this simple project . . .



I made them for favors at Thanksgiving.
Wouldn't they be a fun little gift for your holiday gatherings?



Supplies: small wineglasses, scrapbook paper, LED tea lights, scissors, and clear tape

Print the template {see below} on a piece of 8.5" by 11" paper.
Trace the shape onto scrapbook paper to create the shade
Cut out the shade
Bend into shape and tape to secure
Put a tea light into a small wine glass
Add the shade and adjust to sit evenly.

Since these shades are paper do not use regular tea light candles



I purchased my tea lights at the Dollar Tree.



After Christmas you could switch out the shades to a winter theme
or get them ready for the next holiday.

The pattern is called a liberated checkerboard block.



the pattern
{vertical and horizontal lines are meant to be random}

strap/hanger


sew one back piece and one lining piece
right sides together
with strap/hanger in the middle
{call this: piece a}


sew one front piece to one lining piece
{call this: piece b}


place piece a on top of piece b right sides facing
sew around leaving a 2" opening at bottom


turn right side out and stitch opening closed


tuck lining into bag


ta-da


I found a book called Visions of Sugarplums at an antique store
I tore out pages and rolled them up to put in each bag


I also added some greenery, a candle, a candy cane and berries


finished bag


the basket of favors ready to go

I modified mine to be 3x3.
