I have seen this craft on several blogs and with the
help of Mr. Corners we made a few for the garden.
Buy cups from your local thrift store
Glue a small plastic flange {from Lowes} to the bottom
of both cups and glue the cups to the saucers
Weigh down with a heavy book and let the glue dry.
Spray paint dowels {the right size to fit in the flange}
and glue them in the flange on the bottom of the cup saucer
Aren't they cute?
I was going to put birdseed in them but someone warned
me that the spilled seed would grow weeds in the garden
so they are empty - merely ornamental

Beautifully done! You are right about the seeds though, I have seen that first hand. Maybe you can add some votive candles for the times you and your husband spend the evening together, in the garden:) Maybe that is dreaming.
ReplyDeleteI have wanted to do these because I think they are so pretty. I always thought you had to drill. I could do it this way. I'm all about the gorilla glue.
ReplyDeleteThese are too cute!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is SO cute...and easy too! I think my mother in law would love one of these! Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteI have often admired these cute bird seed cups and wished to have one in my garden. Your directions are great!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your sweet words concerning my mom :) They are greatly appreciated!
