Transfiguration Sunday - Preparing for Lent:
Our minister gave a very powerful sermon Sunday that I
think
is well worth
the 30 minutes you would spend listening to it.

Pastor Chris Romig, 03-02-14, God is Sovereign, Exodus
2:1-22
God is never early
God is never late
God is always right on time . . .
We are not in charge, God is in charge.
With God there are no coincidences.
We can be patient when things go against us, thankful
when things go well and for the future we can have good confidence in our faithful
God and Father that nothing will separate us from his love. That’s our comfort
in life, that behind us, beneath us, around us is the divine hand of God.
We cannot always recognize where God is present as we journey through the valleys but
from a later perspective, we can see
and sometimes the lessons that emerge are so powerfully touching and
transforming.
Be patient . . .
God often does
his most loving and tender work in our lives during times of pain.
Richard C. Halverson U.S. Senate Chaplain bendiction:
You
go nowhere by accident.
Wherever
you go, God is sending you there.
Wherever
you are, God has put you there.
He
has a purpose in your being there.
Christ,
who indwells in you, has something
He wants to do through you, wherever you are.
Believe
this, and go in His grace, and love, and power. Amen!

Learned a little bit more about Moses.
ReplyDeleteNow, I have to get back to the last 1/3 of my life and finish doing something great! (I liked that he said that!)
Sounds like a great sermon. I have lots to catch up from our church since we have been on sabbatical but if possible I will try and get to listen to this one too :)
ReplyDeleteI love the summary of the message and have bookmarked this for later listening. I just love a good message.
ReplyDeleteI listened to the message today and enjoyed it. Our time in the desert is not wasted. God is always in control.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
I will definitely listen to this as soon as my schedule allows, but I do love and totally agree with the words you shared and with Richard Halverson's words. It is so amazing the way our God works! Thanks for sharing this inspiring post.
