How have I miss this intriguing show for 2 seasons?!
We discovered it just two episodes short of the season 2 finale.
Now I will be searching for a way to catch up.
The Primetime Emmy® Award winning series from Julian Fellowes (Gosford Park) returns to Masterpiece classic in 2012! Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern and Dan Stevens headline the remarkable cast as war intrudes. Welcome to Downton Abbey!
We were actually laughing right out loud at Maggie Smith as Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham and the matriarch of the family. Her lines are so well written and equally well delivered. I secretly want to be her.
This looks like a great show. I have never heard of it before either. You might be able to catch up episodes through Netflix.
ReplyDeleteAnother bloggy friend mentioned the other day that she was hooked as well! It's on my list to check out!

Maggie Smith is awesome in this part and we all say her lines are written so well. Love this series. Sad it won't be back until next year.
ReplyDeleteI've bought the two seasons on DVD so that I can go back and enjoy the episodes again (and hit 'pause' to see the detail of a room or a dress). I have a little Downton Abbey giveaway, if you're interested!
ReplyDeleteI also just found this show this season... I have streaming Netflix so I watched the entire first season from that and then if you go to PBS.org you can watch all the full length videos there too from this season.. I also LOVE Maggie Smith.. I think we all have a little bit of Violet in us.. I love the entire cast of this show and it's so addicting.. I can't wait for next season!.. I'm so glad you found it :)

Oh this is a great drama, we loved watching it over here in the UK on Sunday evenings. There is a similar period drama on at the moment called Upstairs Downstairs....I am enjoying it but not as much as Downton
ReplyDeleteI would enjoy this too!
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing !

Hummmmm...never heard of it!
ReplyDeleteYou sure do know how to stir the pot. We all want to watch it now.
(if you say it's good, then it must be fantastic!)
Hello, my name is Debbie and I am a Downton Abbey addict! :D I haven't missed a single bit of the story. I was worried about Mary and that creep she was engaged to, but looks like he's gone! Not without revenge I'll bet! I guess I'm in it for the long haul. :D

I've heard so much about this show! Many thanks to Robyn for her suggestion...we don't do Netflix but I'll check out PBS!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter has tweeted about her new Downtown Abbey obsession twice in the past week or so. Now I get what she's talking about.
ReplyDeleteBy far and away THE BEST thing on Telly! Now we must wait for season 3. Shirley Maclaine will be in it as the mother of Elizabeth M.
ReplyDeleteWe downloaded both seasons to our Apple TV via ITunes.
