picture-in-picture
When it is too hot (or cold) to walk outside I have discovered
a great way to get in those three miles. It takes just three ingredients . . .
1) Free Exercise On-Demand
Three Mile Walk with Leslie Sansone or
Walking Cardio Shape Up with Chris Fretag or
Cardioke with Billy Blanks Jr
The music is boring so I usually turn off the sound - not today (new solution)
2) One fan to keep you cool
3) NatGeo on TV
Access the picture-in-picture feature and you
can watch NatGeo during your workout.
Education . . .
Exercise . .
Entertainment . . .
What could be better . . .

candy poems
A sweet young girl that I work with gave me a bag of
candy when I retired, each with a clever poem attached.
I thought you would like to see them.
. . . and a gift card for Joann Fabrics!
Thank you Ali!
I leave in her capable hands four of my favorite jobs . . .
teaching kindergarten
guiding teachers as a grade level chair
school photographer
producing the elementary yearbook

more stalking
In April I was stalking my new neighbors as they moved in.
This summer I was stalking their baby bunnies.
Behind their garage . . .
Shhh ~ Get a little closer . . .
They are so very cute.
I just hope when they are hungry they don't visit our garden!
Three days later, my son spots a baby in our yard.
The photo is deceiving but this bunny is so small.
In the neighbor's yard ~ mama looking for that baby.
Please don't tell the neighbors that a few days later my son rescued
one of the babies from our cat and we hope she doesn't find it again.
A week later Jim is mowing the lawn and
spots one of the babies in the front yard.
Before I could get the camera it ran under this plant.
At least the cat didn't get them all!

corn on the cob butter
My cousin Sue taught us this great way to butter our corn on the cob.
She put a stick of butter in a jar and poured hot water from the corn over it.
Our guests just dipped the corn cob in the jar and viola - buttered corn!

prayer request
Hi family,
Just want to let you all know that I am safe & sound here in Kampala. I'm not sure if you saw the news, but there were some bombings here last night.
Please keep me in your prayers.
Love,
Amanda Mary
July 5: My class, with our amazing prof, Francois who works
for World Vision International's Rapid Response Team.
BBC News:"Two bombs in the Ugandan capital, Kampala have killed at least 64 people and injured another 70.
The blasts hit a rugby club and an Ethiopian restaurant where football fans had gathered to watch the World Cup final.
Police suggest that Somali militants could be to blame.
They have previously threatened to target Kampala because of the presence of Ugandan peacekeepers in Mogadishu to protect the fragile government against Islamic insurgents."

amanda in africa
[just a tourist amused by the bathroom signs in uganda]
photo and comments from Amanda's facebook
Jocelyn: "I understand what the men are supposed to do in here,
but that lady looks like she's just standing there holding it."
Zack: "Lite Brite, Lite Brite, turn on the magic of colored lights!"
Christo: "These deserve mass production."
